Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr Michael Schenberg completed formal training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 1990.

He then spent over two years overseas gaining further surgical experience and broadening his surgical skills in major teaching hospitals in England, Scotland and The Netherlands.

His areas of interest include management of tumours of the oral cavity and jaws, oral oncology, impacted wisdom teeth and dental implantology.

In the past, he was very involved in teaching of oral and maxillofacial surgery to trainee oral and maxillofacial surgeons, medical students and dental students.

Dr Schenberg was active in overseas humanitarian aid, leading teams performing oral and maxillofacial surgery in large hospitals in Vietnam for 15 years. He now performs outreach work in rural Queensland.

Dr Schenberg is also passionate about design and has designed surgical instruments and a popular anaesthetic airway device – the LMA® SureSeal™ FlexyPlus – which has been distributed in Australia and overseas since 2012. He recently completed a degree in Industrial Design.
